Agenda:
Addressing the Economic Impacts of American Protectionism and Planning for the Future of the American Economy with a Special Emphasis on Inflation and the Debt Crisis

IntraMUN Logo, theme (9).png

Trumpian economics has changed the world. Trade protectionism is back and global supply chain uncertainty is higher than ever. The world needs to come together and decide what the next decade of economic policy will look like at the highest priority. Is a debt crisis for the United States more imminent than we think? Is the Federal Reserve well-equipped to save the United States from another financial crisis? All of these are questions that need answers fast. The world revolves around the United States Dollar as the global reserve currency, and trade is more intertwined than ever. All of this makes arriving at a global stance for economics more important than it has ever been. Will global leaders, top economists, and US officials come together to bring about a collective solution, or will political differences make a global stance impossible?

Manveer Pratap Rathore

President, AEC

I, Manveer Pratap Rathore, am incredibly proud to serve as the President of the American Economic Council. I find deep satisfaction in studying Economics and History, alongside Politics. I spend most of my free time debating, alongside watching Tom Brady and Stephen Curry highlights on the side. I also enjoy listening to music, with House and Hip-Hop being my favourite genres. I love discussing issues at the intersection of macroeconomics and geopolitics, making the American Economic Council an excellent fit and a committee I look forward to immensely. I’ll be joined by Aayush and Prithiya on the Executive Board, two talented individuals looking forward to making your MUN experience outstanding.

The world is in an extremely tumultuous state, torn apart by trade wars and strategic economic moves. It seems like every single morning, a new economic event that disrupts global trade occurs. The United States is, of course, at the epicentre of this global transformation. Since the imposition of Trumpian tariffs this year, countries across the world have had to adjust to American protectionism. The AEC brings together top economists, U.S. officials, and world leaders to a unique, fictitious congregation that debates the future of American economic policy. Each Council member plays a crucial role, representing dynamic perspectives that could potentially alter the world order. All of you hold immense power that has the ability to affect millions of lives.

God Bless America.
