Agenda:
Through the Lens of Truth

Truth is the foundation of journalism. Truth is not optional, it is the difference between informing people and misleading them. For decades, journalism has carried truth across borders, giving voice to those who might otherwise remain unheard. This year, the International Press Corps will take on the challenge of examining truth in journalism. Under the agenda ‘Through the Lens of Truth’, delegates will explore how censorship suppresses voices, how reporters in conflict zones risk their lives to bring stories to light, and how misinformation and deepfakes distort public perception. From Sarajevo in 1914 to the Red Sea today, reporters will capture the echoes of history and the urgency of the present. From breaking developments to exclusive interviews, and from serious reporting to witty satire, IPC will ensure the committees are covered in all their complexity. At its core, the committee will grapple with one pressing question, how can journalism remain dependable and brave when truth itself is under siege?

Sandal Mishra & Yana Raheja
Editors-in-Chief, IPC
We, Sandal Mishra and Yana Raheja are honoured to serve as the Editors-in-Chief of the International Press Corps at this year's Emerald Heights Intra Model United Nations Conference. As avid MUNners, debaters, and writers, we are truly passionate about journalism, media, and photography. In our free time, both of us enjoy listening to Frank Ocean and Daniel Ceaser’s music. We are excited to see how each of you will bring your own voice, perspective, and artistry into the work you produce.
The International Press Corps does more than just observing and reporting on diplomacy; it documents it and brings it to life. By covering major developments across every committee, our reporters bridge the gap between the debates inside rooms and the audience outside. This year, under the agenda "Through the Lens of Truth," reporters will address the threats confronting modern journalism: the protection of war correspondents, defense of press freedom against political suppression, strategies to combat misinformation and deepfakes, and the ethical use of technology in news. As your Editors-in-Chief, we look forward to seeing how you capture these sensitive issues with integrity, courage and creativity, making this an enriching and rewarding experience.
